Beware of Spoof Websites

There have been reports of fake websites designed to obtain personal information such as customer account numbers and user ID and passwords. Some of these sites are inscribed with genuine-looking imitations of the Citibank logo.

If you suspect that an e-mail or website is not what it purports to be, leave the site immediately. Never follow any of the instructions it may give you.

*	Please note that Citibank never asks customers to input their card PIN on the Citibank website.

How to stay alert

• Never open suspicious e-mails or click on links to unknown websites.
• Be sure to check the Internet address of your browser every time you access the Citibank website. Typing 'www.citibank.co.jp' directly into the browser is a sensible precaution.
• Before entering your account information on Citibank Online, be sure that the padlock icon* is displayed at the bottom of the browser. Click on the padlock icon to ensure that the certificate has been issued to citibank.co.jp.

*	If Citibank asks you for personal information on the Citibank website, it is always done on a site secured with SSL technology. If you are on the secured site, you will see a small padlock icon at the bottom of the browser. Double click on the padlock and you can check the security certificate. If it does not end with citibank.co.jp, leave the site immediately.
