Please note that details of your Time Deposit accounts may not be shown if you have opened more Time Deposit than Citibank Online is able to display.

Balance Summary

Transactions made at Citibank Online after 16:50 on business days or at any time during weekends or holidays will be posted to your account the next business day and your account balance at ATM machines will be updated at that time.
The hours for services vary depending on the transaction. Please refer to Hours of Services.

ATM, branch, and J-Debit transactions made after 16:50 on business days, or at all times during weekends and holidays will be posted to your account the next business day.

Your total average monthly relationship balance is not available after 16:50 on business days or at any time during weekends or holidays.

For customers who choose MultiMoney Savings account as Source Account for Order Watch, the amount used for placing an Order Watch request is included in the amount shown as "Available amount". However that allocated amount is not usable for any other transaction. Thus please be reminded that the actual amount available for new transaction from funds in the MultiMoney Savings account is total "Available amount" less the amount of Order Watch requests.

For customers who choose Yen Savings or Yen e-Savings account as Source Account for Order Watch, the amount used for placing an Order Watch request is excluded from "Available amount".

If you have not borrowed from MultiMoney Credit before, or if you have recently borrowed from an account from which you have not borrowed before, your displayed borrowing rate from MultiMoney Credit will be set at 0.0000%. The rate for borrowing money (in the currency you borrowed) will be reflected in your account the next business day.

Buy/Sell Foreign Currency

Transactions made at Citibank Online after 16:50 on business days or at any time during weekends or holidays will be reflected on the next business day.

Application of the Spot Rate

  • If the amount of money to be transacted is equivalent to or greater than 20,000 United States dollars, the rate that will be applied will be displayed on the screen for each transaction.
  • When a transaction of an amount equivalent to or greater than 20,000 United States dollars is executed, the exchange rate calculated with the Foreign Exchange fee and the current market rate as of the transaction day will be applied. Therefore, the displayed rates may be updated and changed during the transaction due to market fluctuation. In such cases, please try the transaction again at Citibank Online, or call CitiPhone Banking.
  • Transactions for any amount equivalent to or greater than 50 million yen may not be executed at Citibank Online. In such cases, please consult an associate at one of our branches or call CitiPhone Banking.
  • Please note that the amounts given above are subject to change due to Foreign Exchange market trends.

Cross Currency Transactions

Cross Currency transactions (conversion of one foreign currency into another foreign currency) may be executed during one session, but such transactions require the original foreign currency to be converted into Yen first, then the Yen amount will be converted into your selected foreign currency.

When the amount of money in one transaction is equivalent to 1 million yen*, the Mid Rate will be applied when your original currency is converted into Yen. When Yen is converted into another foreign currency, the TTS rate will be applied as normal.

* How the “amount equivalent to 1 million yen” is calculated.
If your selected amount is entered in the original foreign currency, the TTB rate for the original currency is applied when converting into Yen.
If your selected amount is entered in another foreign currency, the TTS rate for the foreign currency is applied when converting into Yen.

“Reference Cross Currency Rates” are for reference only and reflect the Foreign Exchange rate upon executing Cross Currency transactions.
Below is the method for the calculation of Reference Cross Currency Rates.
The amount in another foreign currency, divided by the amount in the original foreign currency, equals the Reference Cross Currency Rate. (Only 5 digits after the decimal point will be displayed.)

The amount in foreign currencies calculated with the Reference Cross Currency Rate may not be the same as the amount to be transacted.

The special rate for CitiGold members is not applied to Cross Currency Transactions executed at Citibank Online. To use this special rate, please ask our customer service staff at CitiPhone Banking, or an associate at one of our branches.

If the funds are moved by means of ATM withdrawals, automatic utility payments, etc., before this, balance shortage might happen against the order amount. In this case, your order will be automatically cancelled.
  • During the effective period of the order, the order amount cannot be used for other transactions. If you desire to use the same funds for other transactions, you must first cancel your order.
  • After funds are converted into the designated currency, it is credited to designated Savings account. Depending on the time of order execution, the withdrawals of the converted currency will be available from the next business day after the execution.

  • For customers who choose Yen Savings or Yen e-Savings account as Source Account for Order Watch, the amount used for placing an Order Watch request is excluded from "Available amount".

    1.Overseas Remittance Registration (Foreign Currency)

    • This application is only for registering transfer information. Please use Citibank Online, our Internet banking, or call our Citiphone Center to make the fund transfer. To make any changes on your registration, it is necessary to cancel the original registration, and re-register with this application.
    • To delete the registered transfer information, please go to the Payee Maintenance screen under Fund Transfer section of Citibank Online.
    • It takes approximately one week for the registration process after the application is submitted. Please visit one of our branches if necessary.
    • Registration may be denied in some cases; i.e. no correspondence, transfers for the purpose of opening accounts, and transfers to accounts under U.S. sanction.
    • With overseas transfers, corresponding banks may deduct their charges, if any, from the amount being remitted.
    • You can register up to 36 remittances in total, including domestic transfers.

    2.Card / PIN / T-PIN Application and Change Request

    • This e-Form is to request banking card reissue and PIN / T-PIN change. You cannot request the issue of new cards.

    <Delivery of your card>

    • In about 1 week after you request a card issue, your local post office will notify you of an arrival of "Restricted Delivery Mail (ID required/Customer only)". Please contact the post office to pick up your card, and for details regarding "Restricted Delivery Mail".

<Important notice about the reissue of a Magnetic Stripe card>

    • Your name (in Roman alphabet) will be embossed on the front of your card based on the name that you have already registered with us.
    • To reissue a damaged card, please cut the card in half by yourself. If the reason of reissue is Lost/Stolen/Other, the Personal Identification Number for the card will be changed. The notification of the new Personal Identification Number will be sent to your registered home address.
    • If we are unable to debit your account for the replacement card fee, we will not be able to issue the card as requested.
    • In case of switching to IC Banking Card, please pay the issuance fee from the account for which your IC Banking Card has been issued. If the withdrawal cannot be made due to insufficient balance in your account, you will not be able to use the IC Banking Card.

<Important notice about the issue of an IC card>

    • The IC card can only be issued for a Yen Savings Account or Yen Savings e-Savings Account.
    • When you change a magnetic stripe card to an IC card in cases other than loss or theft, the card PIN will not change.
    • The withdrawal limits for your new IC Banking Card will be set to Default Amounts at the first time of issue. If you wish to change the limits, please apply separately to set your own limits.
    • After applying to switch from a Magnetic Stripe card to an IC banking card, all your magnetic stripe only banking cards under the same name can be used until the last business day of the fourth month after applying for IC banking card (including the month of application). After this day old magnetic stripe cards will be automatically disabled.
    • When you have your IC card re-issued, the information about the registered recipients of remittance and your biometric authentication data will not be copied to the new IC card. You will need to register the information again.

<Important notice about the reissue of a supplementary card>

    • The Personal Identification Number for supplementary cards will be the same as that of the account holder.
    • Supplementary cards are limited to two cards per account.

    <Important notice about PIN/T-PIN Change>
