Registering for the One Time Password Service

During your session, please do not use Browser Back Button and use "Back" or "Cancel" button inside Citibank Online. |

You will need a One Time Password (OTP) to use our services which require a higher level of security to protect your personal information. Follow the instructions below to register for and start the One Time Password Service.
Start your registration
Select "Fund Transfers" from the menu on the left and then click "Register for One Time Password Service".
The registration page appears.

Register an email address for receiving One Time Passwords
Type in the email address that you want your One Time Passwords to be sent to.
You may only use single-byte letters and numbers as below.
a to z, 0 to 9, the following symbols: . @ _ -
Email addresses provided for the OTP service must not contain the following:
Continuous dots "..." or a dot "." immediately before the @ mark.
Any of the following symbols: ! '' # $ % & ' ( ) * + , / : ; < = > ? [ \ ] ^ ` { | } ~
| * | For security, please register the email address you use on your mobile phone. |
| * | If your email address contains any of the prohibited characters, please change it to an acceptable address before you register it as your OTP receiving email address. |
| * | If you use a spam filter, email messages from Citibank may be blocked. Before you register for the OTP service, change the settings of your spam filter to register the "citi.com" domain so that you can receive email messages from Citibank. |
| * | If your email address for receiving OTP changes, for example if you lose your phone or change your mobile phone company, you will need to re-register for the One Time Password Service by clicking "Register for One Time Password Service". |
| * | Registering your mobile phone email address allows you to transfer larger amounts to unregistered payees than using other email addresses such as a PC email address. If you register your mobile phone email address, you can send between 1,000 yen and 4 million yen (excluding service charges) in any one business day. If you register another kind of email address (such as a PC email address) you can send between 1,000 yen and 2 million yen (excluding service charges) in any one business day. |
| * | If you would like to use the iPhone's e-mail address provided by SoftBank as your mobile e-mail address, please register your iPhone's MMS e-mail address (Domain name:softbank.ne.jp). Please note that you must apply to SoftBank in advance if you are planning to use your MMS e-mail address. Please understand that iPhone's E-mail(i)" address (Domain name:i.softbank.jp) is treated as a non-mobile address. |
Re-enter your email address for confirmation.
Click "Register".
If you registered two email addresses, Email Address 1 and Email Address 2, when you opened your Yen
The email address 2 will be your email address again to use the One Time Password Service.

Check your email address for receiving One Time Passwords
Check the registered email address that appears on the screen.
Once you have registered, we will send you a notice containing your “Reference Number” by mail.
When you get this notice, log on to Citibank Online, select "Enable OTP" and enter your “Reference Number” .
You will now be able to use the One Time Password Service.
Now you can continue to another operation.
If the registered email address is incorrect, click "Re-register Email Address".
To return to the "Fund Transfers" top page, click "Return to Fund Transfers".

Enter your “Reference Number”
Sign on to Citibank Online.
Select "Fund Transfers" from the menu on the left and then click "Enable OTP".
Enter your “Reference Number”.
Click "Submit".
If the registered email address is incorrect, click "Change Registered Email Address".

Enable One Time Password Service
You will now be able to use the One Time Password Service to transfer funds to unregistered payees.
We will send a confirmation by post to your registered address that your registration to the One Time Password Service is complete.
| * | If you have registered a mobile phone email address, messages from Citibank may be blocked by your spam filter. Before you register for the service, change the settings of your spam filter to register the "citi.com" domain so that you can receive email messages from Citibank. |
Now you can continue to another operation.
To transfer funds right away, click "Make a Fund Transfer".
