This is how the total average monthly relationship balance is calculated.
Your "total average monthly relationship balance" is the standard used to determine eligibility for a waiver of the account maintenance fee or discount fee services. The "total average monthly relationship balance" is calculated by combining the daily balance of deposits, mutual funds, annuities, bonds/notes(Intermediary) and 25% of loan products at Citibank (including foreign currency-based balance) from the first to the last day of the month and dividing this total by the number of days in the month. This calculation is illustrated below(is to be stated in monthly statement).
The total of all average balance calculated by this fomula is the total average monthly relationship balance for the month.

Balance information for annuity products and bonds/notes (intermediary) are provided by the insurance company or securities company based on contract and investment status. As a result, it may take several day s before the Total Average Monthly Balance reflects the balance information. Please pay careful attention to the confirmation. This balance cannot be changed once determined. |

- Later transaction after 16:50(Japan time) on weekdays and all transaction on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays are dated on next available business day.
What is the Account Maintenance Fee?
At Citibank, customers are charged a monthly account maintenance fee of 2,100 yen (tax included), which is deducted from their account on the first banking day of the following month. However, this fee is waived for Citigold/Citigold Premium Customers or when
- the Total Average Monthly Relationship Balance in foreign currency in the previous month is equivalent to 200,000 yen or more,
- the Total Average Monthly Relationship Balance in the previous month is equivalent to 500,000 yen or more,
- the customer is paying a housing loan (including Mortgage Power),
- the average monthly loan balance for Advance Money or card loans in the previous month is 4 yen or more,
- the customer is a member of the Citi Platinum Card or Citi Gold Card issued by Citi Card Japan Inc. (Citi Platinum VISA Card, Northwest/Citi WorldPerks Platinum VISA Card, Citi Gold Card, Northwest/Citi WorldPerks
VISA Gold Card, Citi Elite, and Citi Dollar Card) and designates a Citibank account to pay balances on these cards, or
- a new account is opened for the month in which the account is opened and the two subsequent months.

- Foreign currency balances are converted to Yen for this calculation. The exchange rate used is the TTB rate set by Citibank on the final business day of the previous month.
- The combined average monthly balance for all foreign currency deposits held, such as Monthly Smile, the Step-Up Time Deposit, and Structured Deposits is shown as a MultiMoney foreign currency time deposit calculation.
- The balance of mutual funds (Yen-denominated, foreign currency denominated) is calculated by the standard price on the final business day of the previous month multiplied by the number of units owned on that day.
- Foreign currency denominated mutual funds are converted to Yen in the same manner as foreign currency deposits, using the TTB rate set by Citibank on the final business day of the previous month.
- There is a delay of about 2 to 4 days from the time of application to the commitment of mutual funds. For pre-committed mutual funds, the price on the day of purchase is used as the daily balance. Note that service fees and sales tax are deducted from the purchase price.
