What is the Transfers to Unregistered Payee Service?
The Transfers to Unregistered Payee service enables you to make domestic fund transfers whenever you want, to payees whom you have not registered in advance with Citibank.
One Time Passwords are used to ensure safety and security in the transfer.

Domestic fund transfers
[Transfers to Unregistered Payee]
- You may transfer funds totaling between ¥1,000 and ¥4,000,000, not including service charges, on a given business day (18:30 to 14:30 the following day) if you register your mobile phone email address to receive One Time Passwords (OTP).
- If you register the PC email address to receive One Time Passwords (OTP), you may transfer funds totaling between ¥1,000 and ¥500,000, not including service charges, on a given business day (18:30 to 14:30 the following day).
- You must enter a One Time Password in order to use the Transfers to Unregistered Payee menu.
[Transfers to Registered Payee]
- You may transfer funds totaling between ¥1,000 and ¥6,000,000, not including service charges, on a given business day (18:30 to 14:30 the following day) if you have registered your mobile phone email address to receive One Time Passwords (OTP) .
- If you have registered the PC email address to receive One Time Passwords (OTP), you may transfer funds totaling between ¥1,000 and ¥500,000, not including service charges, on a given business day (18:30 to 14:30 the following day).
- Customers who create an “e-Savings” account as their first account with Citibank may register an e-mail address for One Time Password service at the time of opening their e-Savings account. In such cases, re-application for this service is not necessary. (A “signature card” must be sent to Citibank for the service to be activated.)
- Taking into consideration the possibility of unexpected delays, unsent e-mails, or mobile phone failure, it is strongly recommended that you register payees to whom funds are regularly transferred (“Transfers to Registered Payee” Service), rather than leaving them unregistered (“Transfers to Unregistered Payee” Service).
- The Transfers to Unregistered Payee Service is not available to corporate or non-resident account holders.
