Citibank helps you easily and effectively transfer funds and make overseas remittances.

Domestic transfers

To make fund transfers to Citibank domestic branches and other city banks, visit a branch service counter, or use Citibank Online* or CitiPhone Banking.

*Domestic transfers in principle must be made during hours excluding 14:30 to 18:30 (Japan Standard Time) on business days. Note that the service hours are subject to change without prior notice. Also note that the service is not available for a few minutes in the early mornings.
*Fund transfers via Citibank Online are available not only to registered payees, but also to unregistered payees if you register for the One Time Password Service.
However, once you complete setting up the OTP Service, while transferring funds to a unregistered payee, you may first check the "Add to my Payee List" check box to register the payee account . Then the payee account will be recognized as a registered account for future transactions.

-You may transfer funds totaling between ¥1,000 and ¥4,000,000, not including service charges, on a given business day (18:30 to 14:30 the following day) if you register your mobile phone email address to receive One Time Passwords (OTP).
-If you register the PC email address to receive One Time Passwords (OTP), you may transfer funds totaling between ¥1,000 and ¥500,000, not including service charges, on a given business day (18:30 to 14:30 the following day).

*You must enter a One Time Password in order to use the Transfers to Unregistered Payee menu.
*You can register only Japanese mobile operators.

-You may transfer funds totaling between ¥1,000 and ¥6,000,000, not including service charges, on a given business day (18:30 to 14:30 the following day) if you have registered your mobile phone email address to receive One Time Passwords (OTP).
-If you have registered the PC email address to receive One Time Passwords (OTP), you may transfer funds totaling between ¥1,000 and ¥500,000, not including service charges, on a given business day (18:30 to 14:30 the following day).
-If you have never registered any email address to receive One Time Passwords (OTP), you may transfer funds totaling between ¥1,000 and ¥6,000,000, not including service charges, on a given business day (18:30 to 14:30 the following day).

*As one of the proactive measures to support prevention of financial crimes, Citibank Japan Ltd. conducts monitoring of transactions including the usage of fund transfers to both domestic and overseas recipients. If any suspicious transactions for fraud, abuse or equivalent reasons are detected, Citibank Japan Ltd. reserves the right to suspend a part of, or all related services without notice. Citibank Japan Ltd. will not be liable for any loss, damage, and expenses arising as a result of this action.

Overseas Remittances

To remit funds overseas, you can choose between an electronic transfer ("overseas remittance") to an overseas bank account or a demand draft issued in major foreign currencies. Citibank's global network assures fast, safe and reliable overseas remittances. To make an overseas remittance, visit a branch service counter, or use Citibank Online or CitiPhone Banking.*

When you make a remittance through Citibank Online, the overseas remittance fee, normally ¥4,000 (handling charge: ¥2,000, electronic transfer fee: ¥2,000) is reduced to ¥3,500 (handling charge: ¥1,500, electronic transfer fee: ¥2,000).

*Overseas remittances in principle must occur during hours excluding 15:00 to 18:30 on each business day (Japan Standard Time). Note that the service hours are subject to change without prior notice. Also note that the service is not available for a few minutes in the early mornings.
*Customers are required to register the payee's account in advance for overseas remittances made via Citibank Online or CitiPhone Banking.
*We may ask for further information on overseas remittance transactions subsequently, such as the beneficiary, purpose of remittance and so forth in order to comply with the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Control Law.

To receive remittances from overseas

A SWIFT code is sometimes required for remittances from overseas banks to a Citibank account in Japan. In such cases, specify "CITIJPJT" as the SWIFT code for Citibank Japan Ltd.
