Notices Concerning Use of Citibank Online
Citibank’s Online Banking services make it possible for you to carry out a host of banking transactions on the Internet from wherever you are. Our state-of-the-art security features help to keep your personal data, account and transactions secure. You just need to key in your user ID and password to access information and transact on your bank account.
We request you to please read through the following notices regarding online transactions and services, to make the best use of Citibank Online.
Transfers and Remittances
Inter-account transfers for MultiMoney Savings Accounts (Inter-account Yen transfers)
The maximum amount per transaction is 5 million yen. Inter-account Yen transfers in excess of 5 million yen must be sent in several batches. For more details, be sure to read the "Notices" posted under Citibank Online.
Inter-account transfers for MultiMoney Savings Accounts (Inter-account transfers between Yen and foreign currencies)
The maximum transaction amount is 50 million yen. FX exchange (FX) transactions above 20,000 US dollars equivalent have their FX rates displayed each time on the transaction screen. The above amounts are subject to change without prior notice depending on market conditions. For further details, be sure to read the "Notices" posted under Citibank Online.
Inter-account transfers for MultiMoney Savings Accounts (Inter-account transfers between foreign currencies)
Cross-currency transactions
Cross-currency transactions (transfers between foreign currencies) are available as a one-time arrangement. However, the actual transaction is made via yen transactions.
For transfers valued in excess of 1 million yen at the exchange rate of that day, the mid rate is used to convert the source foreign currency to Yen. The subsequent conversion from Yen to the target foreign currency is at the prevailing TTS rate as normal.

Domestic Transfers
- Domestic transfers in principle are made during business hours excluding 14:30 to 18:30 (Japan Standard Time) on normal business days. Note that service hours are subject to change without prior notice. Also note that the service will not be available for a few minutes in the early mornings.
- Domestic transfers – once requested – cannot be canceled.
- Transfer requests placed after 14:30 on weekdays or on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays will be handled on the following business day. If the balance available on the following business day is insufficient, the transfer may not be made on that day. Accordingly, please exercise due caution when using ATMs, automatic withdrawal, or MultiMoney Credit services outside of weekday business hours.
- Transfers from corporate accounts or nonresident accounts are not accepted. Individual customers cannot transfer funds of a business nature either.
- In order to use the Transfers to Unregistered Payee Service at Citibank Online, you need to register for the One Time Password Service in advance. A One Time Password must be issued through Citibank Online every time you use the Transfers to Unregistered Payee Service.
- To register for the One Time Password Service, an online application must be submitted along with e-mail registration.
Overseas Remittances
- Overseas remittances other than to accounts registered in advance are not possible.
- Overseas remittances in principle are made during normal business hours excluding 15:00 to 18:30 each business day (Japan Standard Time). Note that service hours are subject to change without prior notice. Also note that the service will not be available for a few minutes in the early mornings.
- Remittances – once requested – cannot be canceled.
- The remittable amount at one time is 10,000 yen equivalent to 3 million yen equivalent.
- Overseas remittances are limited to once a day.
- Remittance requests after 15:00 on weekdays or on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays will be handled on the following business day. If the balance available on the following business day is insufficient, the transfer may not be made on that day. Accordingly, please exercise due caution when using ATMs, automatic withdrawal, or MultiMoney Credit services outside of weekday business hours.
- Remittances from corporate accounts or nonresident accounts cannot be accepted. Individual customers cannot transfer funds of a business nature either.
- Before remitting to a pre-registered overseas account, be sure to read the "Notices" posted under Citibank Online.
MultiMoney Credit Borrowing
- The minimum transaction amount is 1,000 yen equivalent.
- Up to 3 transactions are permitted per business day (from 16:50 on one business day until 16:50 on the following business day).
MultiMoney Credit Repayment
- There are limitations on the number of repayments.
- Transactions performed after 16:50 on any business day are counted as taking place on the following business day. The interest rate displayed at Citibank Online is for the previous business day, and may be less than that of the present business day. If you intend to repay the total interest amount, please perform the transaction between 9:00 and 16:50 on a business day.
Changing address
"Change Address" facility is available in Japanese session only.
If your registered address or the address you wish to register is out-side Japan, you will need to make the address change request with an "Address Change Request Form". For more details, please consult an associate at one of our branches or CitiPhone Banking.
Addresses and phone numbers can be changed through Citibank Online only with respect to changes within Japan.
You cannot change your address to a non-resident address, such as a business address.
Addresses for corporate accounts or non-resident accounts cannot be changed through Citibank Online.
When changing your residence, please register after the move is completed.

Restrictions apply to the following customers concerning the use of Citibank Online:
Customers who cannot use Citibank Online
- Customers with a Yen Savings Account only or a MultiMoney Account only are not eligible to use Citibank Online.
Accounts with restrictions
- Joint accounts
- Corporate accounts
Automatic Time-out
If the system can not detect any activities for 5 minutes during a session on Citibank Online, the system will automatically disconnect the session in order to protect your account from unauthorized access.
